Dear College of Health and Applied Sciences students,

We hope you have been able to relax and enjoy some time to yourselves since the end of the spring semester. We would, once again, like to take a moment to recognize your resiliency, understanding, and perseverance as we settle into the Summer semester and move toward Fall semester.

While there is still uncertainty about the future of COVID-19 pivots, there is a plan in place for the College of Health and Applied Sciences. While most of us prefer in-person classes, the vast majority of the classes have been moved online, in accordance with MSU-Denver’s plan for a safe return. This means that all of your classes have been updated to reflect whether they are synchronous (meeting at scheduled times via Zoom or Teams), or whether they are asynchronous (no “live” meetings).

We respect that many of you prefer on-campus experiences, and we are confident in your adaptability while we continue to provide outstanding and high-quality courses delivered by faculty committed to your success. Spring semester required us to rapidly transition to online learning, and rest assured, faculty are using these summer months to best prepare for Fall classes. Many are working hard to develop comprehensive materials, expanding their knowledge of the various platforms through an array of workshops.

If you have any questions about any of the courses you are enrolled in, we encourage you to reach out to the instructor or the chair of the relevant department. Your academic advisors continue to be available to support and assist in decision-making during this time.

As we navigate through this uncharted territory, we want you to know that your educational and professional goals remain our highest priority as you move steadily toward graduation. By continuing your education, we are here to support your career goals by building upon your knowledge, decision making and communication skills. And we are doing so as we all develop our technological agility.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your faculty, your advisors, or the College of Health and Applied Sciences with any questions or to talk through the best options for you in the coming year. We look forward to making the Fall semester a valuable learning experience with you.

Sincerely,
Dr. Rebecca Trammell
